It’s been a bit quiet here at Meadowside as we’ve been busy with a related project – Heritage Quilts – which you may have read about on our sister blog chrisandbarbaraquilts. If you love the look of vintage quilts, want to make one of your own (perhaps in modern fabrics, perhaps in reproduction fabrics) by hand or machine then our Heritage Quilts patterns could be just what you’re looking for. There are only a few there for now but we hope to add to them over the coming months. You can buy them as direct downloads from either Payhip or Craftsy and get stitching almost straightaway. So far they are mainly patchwork but we will be adding some applique ones before too long and also some of Barbara’s quilting designs as well as designs taken from vintage quilts.
Just to whet your appetite here’s a few photos of some of the quilts available, starting with a couple for those of you wishing to use up your stash and scraps.
Hmmm – seems to be a bit of a red theme to these. There are a couple of blue ones available as well – and, of course, you don’t have to make your quilt in the same colours as the originals.
