Simple Blocks – Flying Geese

The Flying Geese unit is very versatile – there are several ways to make it and it crops up in a number of blocks. The unit itself is based on a rectangle that’s twice as long as it is wide. You will find instructions for making the unit on the Tutorials page.

FG unit

Two together will make a square unit, or block –

Put lots of them together to make a strippy quilt –

Turn the centre row around for a bit of variety –

Or add a strip of print fabric in between the rows –

And, of course, it lends itself well to borders –
